Ingredients
- 3 large sweet white onions 2.5-3 pounds of Walla Walla, Vidalia, Maui sweets, etc.)
- 1 cup ground sunflower seeds
- 1 cup ground chia seeds or ground flax seeds
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 3.5 tbsp coconut Aminos or Bragg’s liquid Aminos
- 1/2 tsp pink salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 125 degrees
- Peel & chop onions
- Transfer to food processor and pulse until small, but not mushy
- Add ground flax (or chia) seeds & ground sunflower seeds
- Pulse a few times to incorporate
- Add olive oil, coconut Aminos, and salt
- Pulse to incorporate
- Spread onto dehydrator teflex sheets or parchment paper at about 1/4″ thickness
- Dehydrate for 1 hour at 125 degrees, then reduce to 115 degrees and dry for another 8-24 hours, flipping over once and discarding teflex or parchment
- Once dough starts drying out and holding together, score with a knife into 30 pieces
